The emphasis in home improvements on the homes of a family now has a wide range of styles and with the focus firmly on glass and prefabricated elements, the designers of this Spanish home went from a mundane older home that served as stable and reliable family home to a light and airy modern home that reflects a lightness as much as the appeal of its unique style. Spanish studio Elii built this impressive Bridge, Spain residence for a art collector and his family.

The primary form of the home is a structure that can also serve as a guest house/ office with the bedrooms, bathrooms and office that can be opened wide on the second floor. Aside from opening up of the home to the outside, the structure of the concrete and glass house also features huge window punctuations that create a sense of flowing and harmonious space. A sizeable driveway connects the structure to the sparkling Mediterranean gardens at the back while a central courtyard corrals the car and carport slightly away from the main entrance.

The exterior is clad in white and the home itself is done in a cool gray color scheme with an additional bright accent color thrown into the mix for added interaction. A central wooden pathway acts as a division between the private and public gardens and provides a more casual transition into the home’s outdoors areas. An additional sitting area with a fire pit, fire pit station and garden kitchen featuring a more rustic and organic materiality. Another cool addition to the house is the garden shed recently added to the original structure. This brings it closer to the forest by enabling fresh air to circulate through the whole building and the contrast of warm colors tones throughout is lovely.
